Ken Cyr, Director of Freedom in Christ Canada, was promoted to glory last weekend aged 58.  For the last four years he'd fought a courageous fight with cancer. His wife Cindy and their sons were able to be by his side as he passed peacefully from this world.

He spent 33 years in ministry, working as a pastor in churches in Nakusp, B.C., Fort Qu’Appelle, SK and Quesnel, B.C. and then most recently as Director of Freedom in Christ Canada since 2015. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with family, but most of all he loved Jesus immensely and desired everyone he encountered to experience a saving relationship with Him.

Steve Goss says, "The times I spent with Ken in person and on Zoom over the last few years were always filled with humour and his great desire to share the freedom message with others. Even when recovering from surgery he wouldn't miss a meeting and brought great insight and energy to the discussions and prayer times."

Everyone who knew him would say that his personality was larger than life. His joy and humour were infectious. He was kind, compassionate, courageous, brave, and incredibly loving. He faced his battle with cancer with incredible perseverance, never feeling like he suffered unjustly, but instead often saying, “Why not me?”

Clay Bergen, the Interim Canada Director says, "Ken was a good friend and it was a blessing to serve with him. He will be missed but his passion for sharing the message of freedom will continue with many that he impacted with his life story."
