freedom in christ gets going in ECuador

Roberto and Nancy Reed have taught the 'Making Fruitful Disciples' event three times in Ecuador over the last five years. Freedom in Christ took root at first with women who were leaders in a large church in Quito. The pastors and men of the church after seeing the change and fruit in their lives said 'we want this for the whole church!'. 
We are delighted to announce that Lirio Martínez has now been appointed as the National Co-ordinator for Ecuador and Francisco Quinde as the Assistant Co-ordinator for Ecuador. Lirio says, 'My passion to serve the Lord began at the age of fourteen and ever since I have served God in different ministries in the local church. I have the privilege of being married for forty years to Jaime Flores, one of the pastors of the Santísima Trinidad Church in Quito. We have three children, all of them serve the Lord. Thirty years ago I graduated in Business Administration and about eight years ago I obtained a degree in Theology from the South American Seminary. I have become more involved with Freedom in Christ in the last two years. I sense God inviting me to join His plans in the task of being and making disciples that bear fruit in my country and why not, go even outside Ecuador! I have great expectations of seeing everything that God wants to do in my church, my city, my country and in the whole world through this ministry'.
Roberto y Nancy Reed han ofrecido el taller de 'Hacer Discípulos que dan Fruto' tres veces en los últimos cinco años. Libertad en Cristo echó raíces al principio con mujeres que eran líderes en una iglesia grande en Quito. Los pastores de la iglesia al ver el cambio y el fruto en sus vidas dijeron “¡queremos esto para toda la iglesia!” Nos complace anunciar que Lirio Martínez ha sido designado como Coordinador Nacional para Equador y Francisco Quinde como Coordinador Asistente para Equador. Lirio dice, 'Mi pasión por servir al Señor empezó a los catorce años y desde entonces he podido servir a Dios en diferentes ministerios en la iglesia local. Tengo el privilegio de estar casada desde hace cuarenta años con Jaime Flores, quien es uno de los pastores de la iglesia Santísima Trinidad de Quito. Tenemos tres hijos, todos ellos sirven al Señor. Hace treinta años me gradué en Administración de Empresas y hace unos ocho años saqué mi título de Teología en el Seminario Sudamericano. Desde hace dos años que me he involucrado más directamente en Libertad en Cristo, donde siento que Dios me está haciendo la invitación de unirme a sus planes en la tarea de ser y hacer discípulos que den fruto en mi país, y ¿por qué no? ¡Fuera de él! Me siento contenta y con expectativas de ver todo lo que Dios quiere hacer en mi iglesia, mi ciudad, mi país y en el mundo entero a través de este ministerio'.
As the National Assistant Co-ordinator for Ecuador, Francisco will be working closely with Lirio and says, 'I am the lead pastor of a church in near Guayaquil, I also serve as a master coach in business. For more than 20 years I have served the church training leaders for the work. Although thousands of people passed through the programs successfully, over time many left the ministry - their passion was exhausted, they gave in to temptations, and their old struggles disqualified them. It was very discouraging because the people I loved fell by the wayside. I was aware that something was missing in training, maybe not in ministry skills, but in the foundation of my faith. Freedom in Christ allowed us to find the answer: identity was the foundation that we had neglected. That changed our paradigm on disciple-making. Today our church uses the Discipleship Course as the starting point for the entire formation process. I want to see my city, region, country, and the continent transformed in and for Christ. I have two daughters and one son. I am married to Katty Álvarez Chávez.'.
Como Coordinador Asistente Nacional para Equador, Francisco trabajará en estrada colaboración con Lirio y dice 'Soy pastor principal de una iglesia en las cercanías de Guayaquil y también sirvo como master coach en un negocio personal. Por más de 20 años he servido en la iglesia capacitando líderes para la obra. Aunque miles de personas pasaron por los programas con éxito, con el tiempo muchos dejaban el servicio –su pasión se agotaba, cedían a tentaciones, sus viejas luchas los descalificaban–. Era muy desalentador porque la gente que yo amaba se quedaba en el camino. Era consciente que algo faltaba en su formación, pero no en sus habilidades para el ministerio, sino en el fundamento de su fe. Libertad en Cristo nos permitió encontrar la respuesta: la identidad era el fundamento que habíamos descuidado. Eso cambió nuestro paradigma sobre la formación de discípulos. Hoy nuestra iglesia usa el Curso de Discipulado como punto de partida de todo el proceso de formación. Deseo ver a mi ciudad, región, país, y el continente transformado en y para Cristo. Tengo dos hijas y un hijo. Estoy casado con Katty Álvarez Chávez.
Roberto Reed, Latin America Area Director, together with his wife Nancy have been so encouraged by how Freedom in Christ is developing across Latin America. He says 'It has been a joy-filled journey to equip and walk with our national leaders in training in four countries in Latin America over the last year. It’s exciting to not only have one but two leaders per country - a National co-ordinator and and an Assistant National Co-ordinator in Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Venezuela. It is an honor to present these eight men and women of God to you and welcome them as national country leaders into the international Freedom in Christ family'.
Roberto Reed, Director del área de Latino América, junto con su esposa Nancy, se han sentido muy animados por la forma en que Libertad en Cristo se está desarrollando en Latino América. Rob dice 'Ha sido un peregrinaje lleno de gozo el capacitar y caminar al lado de nuestros líderes nacionales en formación decuatro países de Latino América durante el último año. Es emocionante no solo contar con un líder, sino dos líderes por país: un coordinador nacional y un coordinador nacional asistente en Colombia, Costa Rica, el Ecuador y Venezuela. Es un honor presentarles a estos ocho hombres y mujeres de Dios y darles la bienvenida como líderes nacionales a la familia internacional de Libertad en Cristo'.
